Managing System Permissions

Managing System Permissions

Overview

Users can be assigned specific permissions to manage content, accounts, or portal settings.

Each function of the Launch system is gated by a permission. These permissions are organized into a hierarchy. You can specify very fine grained or very broad permissions by assigning different levels of permissions to a user. The user interface will update to reflect which actions are available to the logged in user.

Assigning Permissions

Browse to the "Manage Learners" administration page.

Find the user who's permissions you wish to edit, then click on the vertical ellipsis icon (three dots vertically aligned) located under the Actions column to display the submenu items.

Choose "Edit Permissions"

In the next screen, choose the desired permissions.

Click "Save" and the modal window will close.

Notes
Users may have to refresh their browser to fully see their new capabilities

To make a user a full system administrator, choose the top level "portal" permission
