Enrollments, Attempts and Launches

Enrollments, Attempts and Launches

It's important to understand Enrollments, Attempts, and Launches in order to make full use of the Veracity Launch system. Data artifacts associated with these concepts are created automatically, but you must understand their relationships when administering the portal.

Enrollments

An enrollment is the act of enrolling in a course or other type of content in Launch. It represents a learner's access to (and expectation of completion for) a given piece of learning content. Enrollments may have start and end dates, and may contain one or more registrations. Read this article to learn how to use the different enrollment methods in Veracity Launch.

Registration (Attempts)

A registration is an attempt on a piece of content. There may be one or more registrations within an enrollment, but only one can be active at a time. Registrations contain much of the data you might associate with an attempt, like the score, duration, completion, and other status information about the attempt. Registrations can be active or closed.

Launches

A launch represents a session of learning. Each time a piece of content is accessed, a launch record is created. Launches are associated with the active registration of the learner on the content. Each launch tracks a duration, and this duration is summed up to become the duration of the registration. Some content types will have a single launch per registration, but some content types may have many.
