The Veracity Learning LRS offers frictionless integration with your LMS to let teachers and students access the services of the LRS without leaving the LMS. We do this using the
Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI) technical standard. LTI is a secure way for you to integrate external learning tools or applications into your LMS.
The Veracity Learning LRS offers many functions using LTI:
- Learner Portal Login — The first time a student opens the LRS from within your LMS, the LRS creates an account in the Learner Portal > Learner section. Students can then Visit the Portal with just a click.
- Content Management — From within your LMS, teachers can upload content packages into our LRS by visiting Learner Portal > Content.
- Content Launch — Once they Visit the Portal > Content, a student can launch a courseware package with a single click. If the package is xAPI or cmi5, then any xAPI statements sent from the content automatically flow back to the LRS.
- Dashboard Rendering — A teacher can build a custom dashboard in our LRS and embed it in your LMS. Later, they can view it without logging-in to the LRS. A teacher (with privilege) can share the dashboard with students as well.
To integrate our LRS with your LMS, in the LRS, go to
All Management Tools >
Integration Center, click the
Create API Key button, and follow the directions to hook it up to your LMS. By default, the Integration Center shows directions on how to register and link from the
Moodle LMS. We tested our Veracity Learning LRS with many common LMS. The vendor of your LMS can give you specific directions on how to enroll an LTI tool such as our LRS.
Once you add our LRS as a tool (sometimes called and “activity” or “app”), your teachers can add an instance of the LRS in their courses. When a teacher opens the tool for the first time, they may need to configure the link, depending on how you register the tool.
